Today, Stanford Alumni Association arranged a volunteer shift for several of us at Sacred Heart Community Service. Spent the morning putting together food bags that'll be distributed directly next week.
Sacred Heart is quite an operation. They distribute most of their items directly to those in need. Food, non-cook food, clothing, etc. A large operation that has been doing this for over 50 years.
Our assembly line crew of about 15 volunteers bagged 1000-1100 bags of food, maybe 20-25 pounds each. Somehow I wound up on the end of the line; meaning I was the one loading these bags into the palette bins. I can skip the YMCA today that is for sure.
A nice way to spend the morning with friends and family!
